Bonin Architects & Associates - About Us


Bonin Architects takes a collaborative team approach to each individual project. Jeremy is the lead architect on every project, supervising all design and construction administration. Kim manages each project, coordinating all internal and external parties and consultants, and is the single point of contact for the clients throughout both the design and the construction phases.  Our design staff works collectively on all projects; each person bringing their specific personal strengths and professional experience, delivering an exceptional design process to every project.

Jeremy Bonin AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, is a Principal Partner and Lead Architect at Bonin Architects & Associates (BA&A). Previous to starting an architectural firm, Jeremy was the Principal Architect at a premier national timber frame home manufacturer. While there Jeremy authored the timber frame design book, TIMBER FRAMES: Designing Your Custom Home, an invaluable tool for anyone building a timber frame or post and beam home.

A member of the AIA (American Institute of Architects), Jeremy is also an NCARB (National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) Certified Architect; licensed in New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, and Maine. Jeremy received his Bachelor of Architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts. His professional experience includes employment in architectural offices in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island working on projects such as the RI State Police and Forensic Crime Lab headquarters, Shaw's Supermarkets, The Westin Hotel, LaSalle Academy and a myriad of smaller projects, renovations and additions.

Jeremy is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP).  LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the U.S. Green Building Council's national standard for the development of high performance sustainable buildings. Jeremy's special interest in timber framing and energy efficiency as it relates to green living and sustainable design, energy efficient home design, renewable energy sources, and environmentally sound material selections such as structural insulated panels (SIP panels), make him a valuable resource for homeowners.

Jeremy is currently working on his second book focusing on green building and sustainable construction practices.

Kimberly Bonin is Principal Partner and Executive Project Manager at BA&A. Kim has over ten years of construction management experience. Her career beginning in timber frame project management with Vermont Timber Works, located in North Springfield Vermont as the Director of Sales & Marketing.

At VTW, Kim worked primarily on commercial timber frame projects including the Fresh Air Fund dining halls and cabins in Fishkill, NY, an Executive Annex in Armonk, NY, the Susquehanna Humane society in Susquehanna, PA, the timber frame Bethlehem Monastery of Poor Clares in Bethlehem, PA, the Navasota Church fire rebuild in TX, the Cornwall Library in Cornwall, CT and many other commercial and residential projects.

Kim went on to become the Executive Project Coordinator for another nationally recognized Timber Frame manufacturer located in NH; coordinating projects nationally while exceeding company quotas every year. During her career Kim conducted job site meetings for clients and builders, helped position the timber frame home on the site, assisted in the preliminary design process and construction documentation, completed design specification forms, submitted quotes and contracts to clients, and managed the project through construction.

Additionally, Kim is the co-chair of Parent Links, a local group offering education and support to teachers, paraprofessionals, and parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Asperger's Syndrome.

Intern Architect - Christopher Timberlake

Chris Timberlake is Bonin Architects' Intern Architect, drafting designs and working directly with clients and engineering consultants on a variety of projects. Chris obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies and his Masters degree in Architecture from Norwich University, Northfield, Vermont.
 
Prior to joining Bonin Architects, Chris was an architectural designer for a national manufacturer of timber frame homes for five years, and was head of their design department his last year there.  His knowledge in sustainable design, green building materials, and energy efficient homes adds to the high level of creativity, quality, and professionalism we strive to achieve in all of our projects. His professional experience, coupled with his enthusiasm for architecture and BA&A clients, is a great asset to our company.

Chris is also active in the community, especially with youth groups and the Boy Scouts.  He is a Troop Leader, an Eagle Scout who has achieved Silver Palm status, and recently participated in a local Eagle Scout project.





Intern Architect - Jessica Cook

Jessica received her Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies and her Masters degree in Architecture from Norwich University.  Prior to Bonin Architects, she designed large scale, custom high-end residences, as well as commercial projects, for a prestigious architectural firm on Martha’s Vineyard.

With a background in conceptual art and graphic design, Jessica has a well rounded knowledge of architectural science and practice and takes a sustainable design approach to every project. She is comfortable working independently and with the team in every phase of design and construction.

Jessica’s hobbies include playing ice hockey, hunting for antiques and vintage wares, cooking, and traveling to see great architecture. 





Greg Rusnica, Landscape Architect at Bonin Architects & Associates, PLLC
Greg Rusnica – Architectural Designer / Landscape Architect

Greg graduated sum cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 2005.  After graduating, he joined William D. Warner Architects and Planners, where he worked on residential design projects, the I-195 relocation project, urban planning, transportation planning, and streetscape, park and waterfront design.

Most recently, Greg was employed by db landscaping in Sunapee, NH, working on many lakefront properties relating to wetland planning and permitting as well as the Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act.

Greg lives in Newbury with his girlfriend, Pam, and his German shorthaired pointer, Wellington.  He is an avid snowboarder and also likes hiking, kayaking, gardening, and cooking. He enjoys New England history and following the progress of environmental protection and preservation.




Intern Architect – Christopher Presutti

Chris is our summer intern architect and will begin his third year in the Bachelor of Science degree program in Architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston this fall.  He has an impressive portfolio and resume and is also an honorary brother and co-head of the alumni committee of Phi Sigma Pi, a National Honors Fraternity based on the three ideals of Scholarship, Fellowship, and Leadership.  

Jeremy sums it up for us: “We’re very happy to have Chris join the Bonin team this summer – and personally, I’m excited to have an intern from my alma mater.  He is very talented and brings outstanding communication and artistic ability to the position.”

In his spare time, Chris likes to fish anyway possible, hike, and canoe. He's also an avid snowboarder since the 4th grade and LOVES to cook and travel!




Marketing Director - Jackie Lampiasi

Jackie brings a wealth of knowledge to Bonin Architects with fifteen years' experience in the home building industry.  Her accomplishments include getting featured in national and regional magazines, coordinating seminars and open houses nationwide, and submitting homes for numerous awards. She also wrote an article on the types and energy efficiency of Structural Insulated Panels for Environmental Design & Construction magazine.

In addition to her terrific event coordination for our Green Home Seminars, Jackie designs ads and printed literature, promotes green homes for article consideration in national magazines, and manages our blogs and website.  As an added bonus, she's a skilled bookkeeper and handles all of our bookkeeping.

Jackie and her husband, Santo, also own and operate Special Events Catering.  In her spare time Jackie is active in the local deaf community.






Bonin Architects & Associates is founded on Kim and Jeremy's desire to continually enrich their lives and those around them.
