Our clients, who live in Connecticut, are designing a new vacation house on Lake Sunapee, specifically for their children and future grandchildren.
The 5000 SF home design offers flexibility for the changes in family. Guest bedrooms are currently designed for queen-size beds which can be converted to bunk beds to accommodate future grandchildren. Existing landscaping, including rhododendrons and native plants, will be salvaged.
The basement has an exclusive golf simulator and workshop, which is placed under the garage level. The balance of the basement area with a 9-foot finished ceiling height will also incorporate sweeping views of the lake, additional living space, and a bathroom which is easily accessible from the lake, as well as a media room.
Outdoor living space is a requirement for this lakeside property, and will feature an outdoor patio and fireplace for entertaining and enjoying gorgeous views of both Mount Sunapee and Lake Sunapee.
The home will be built with conventional framing materials, with the foundation being insulated concrete forms.
