Addition to Log Home, central Vermont; Home Addition Design by VT Architect Jeremy Bonin, AIA NCARB LEED AP
One of our most recent clients lives in Maryland and contacted us to design an addition to his log home located in a small town along the Connecticut River in Vermont.  The log home is used as his family’s vacation home and is a bit small to accommodate visiting guests and family members.

The home addition includes an entry porch, bedroom with a private bath, and Great Room, adding 850 square feet to the floor plan.  With an overall barn-style appearance, the sliding barn doors in the rear of the addition will be used to help enclose and will provide additional security for the home when our clients return to their home in Maryland.

The Great Room will feature a masonry heater, which will efficiently heat the home and radiate stored heat evenly and over a long period of time.  To access the new addition, one bedroom will be removed and replaced by the larger bedroom and bath in the addition.
