A Sampling of Current Projects by Bonin Architects & Associates
Featured Project: Georgian House | Colonial Revival
|
With its simple elegant lines and traditional form, the Georgian house, also called a Colonial Revival, continues to be one of America’s favorite house styles.
Located in the heart of the Lake Sunapee area, this grand, two story Georgian house reveals the elegance and creative styles of the homeowners who are instrumental in design of their home. Having built a custom home before, our clients bring many inspirational ideas for this colonial revival which will be reflected in Bonin Architects’ design through their participation in the home design process.
The defining characteristics of colonial architecture are evident in their 4,200 square foot Georgian house, including a symmetrical shape, centrally located, welcoming entry door, and straight lines of symmetrical windows on the first and second floor. The entry door leads to an entryway with a curved stairway and hall which are aligned along the center of the house. Two large fireplaces will be located on each of the gable ends of the home, which is also indicative of colonial homes.
The first floor of the home will feature a formal living room, study / office, and a large kitchen open to the dining area and living room. A spacious sunroom provides an additional space to entertain and enjoy views of the property. A centrally-located elevator will lead to the master suite, sitting area, and guest bedrooms on the second floor.
With a guest house and barn already in place, construction of the main home is scheduled to begin this spring.
