JORDAN DENNIS | LANDSCAPE DESIGNER

While undecided at Montana State University, Jordan performed landscape maintenance work throughout the Gallatin Valley. It was during this time that he decided to pursue a career in the landscape industry and enrolled in Montana State’s College of Agriculture, where he would go on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Horticulture and Plant Pathologies with a concentration in Landscape Design.

Jordan supplemented his plant knowledge outside of MSU’s curriculum by working under herbalist Kris Hill at Hill Botanical. There he learned Native American Remedies, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Ayurvedic practice. This experience led to his introduction to permaculturalist Sepp Holzer and working on an organic produce farm in Indonesia, where he furthered his education through experience.

After graduating from MSU, Jordan was invited to work for Sustainable Nantucket. There he worked with local organic farms, oyster farms, and offshore charter fishing businesses. He also applied his island farming experience at Cisco Brewers, helping to produce fine libations. Jordan then found himself back in the landscape community working on high-end residential design-build projects across the island, both in design and construction aspects for several years before returning to New Hampshire.

Jordan now resides in Newbury, New Hampshire where he is pursuing a license in landscape architecture. He spends his free time chasing snow, waves, and fish with his dog Nor’easter.
